Affiliate-only catalog. Hazard warnings. No sale by ChronoLume — please read before you buy.
Last updated: September 18, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of ChronoLume (the “Site”). By browsing, clicking Buy links, or otherwise using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
This page is a legal notice for your protection and ours. It is not a substitute for advice from your own attorney.
1. Affiliate catalog only — we do not sell products
ChronoLume is an affiliate information and referral catalog covering watches, Nixie clocks, Nixie kits, and tubes (and related listings). We do not manufacture, stock, own, warehouse, ship, or sell the products shown. We do not process payments, take orders, or act as a merchant of record.
When you click a Buy or Buy from vendor (or similar) link, you leave ChronoLume and may open a domestic or foreign third-party site (for example Amazon, eBay, Etsy (via Rakuten), or a specialty / overseas shop) under that seller’s terms, policies, and laws. Any contract of sale is solely between you and that seller.
ChronoLume may or may not be affiliated with a given destination. Where an affiliate relationship applies, ChronoLume may earn a commission if you buy through a tracked link, at no extra cost to you. Affiliation (or the lack of it) does not make ChronoLume the seller, importer, distributor, or guarantor of the product.
2. You buy of your own free will
You are solely responsible for deciding whether to purchase, how to use, store, transport, repair, dispose of, or discard any product. You confirm that you are of legal age to form a binding contract where you live, and that you will follow all applicable laws and safety rules.
Listings on ChronoLume are for browsing and discovery only. Prices, stock, condition, authenticity, shipping, and descriptions can change on the seller’s site without notice. Always verify details on the retailer’s page before you buy.
3. Product hazards — glass, gas, vintage lume, and electronics
Many items featured on ChronoLume — including but not limited to Nixie tubes, other indicator tubes, clocks, kits, and vintage luminous watches — can present serious risks if mishandled. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing:
- Glass envelopes. Tubes and displays are fragile glass. Breakage can cause cuts and release contents.
- Internal gases and materials. Gas-discharge tubes (including Nixie-type tubes) may contain neon and/or other gases and materials. If a tube is broken, cracked, or leaking, vapors or residues may be harmful if inhaled, ingested, or contacted. Do not break tubes. Do not use damaged tubes. Keep broken glass and debris away from people, children, pets, and food areas; ventilate; and dispose of waste according to local hazardous-waste rules.
- High voltage / DIY kits. Nixie clocks, kits, PCBs, and related electronics often use high voltage that can injure or kill. Kits are not toys and are not sold by ChronoLume. Assemble and repair only if you understand the risks and safe practices; otherwise do not buy or build.
- Vintage luminous watches. Some older dials and hands use radium or other radioactive historic luminous paint. That paint can be dangerous to humans and pets. Do not sand, scrape, open dials, or create dust from old lume. Keep such pieces away from children, pets, and food areas. Handle, store, display, and purchase vintage luminous watches at your own risk. ChronoLume does not sell these items as a merchant and is not responsible for any harm, illness, injury, death, or property damage arising from radium or other vintage lume products linked from the Site (see section 5). Treat unknown vintage lume as potentially radioactive and seek qualified guidance.
- Children and vulnerable people. Keep tubes, broken glass, kits, and hazardous materials out of reach of children and anyone who cannot understand these risks. Do not leave damaged tubes where a child or pet could touch them.
ChronoLume does not provide safety training, SDS sheets, or product-specific hazard certifications. Follow the seller’s and manufacturer’s instructions, and applicable law.
3A. DIY kits, PCBs, and high-voltage builds
Nixie clock kits, bare boards, enclosures, and “build your own” listings are for experienced hobbyists. They typically require soldering, correct power supplies, and safe high-voltage practice. Miswiring or improper assembly can cause fire, electric shock, burns, property damage, or death.
ChronoLume does not sell kits, supply parts, provide assembly instructions as a merchant, or certify that any kit is complete, safe, or suitable for beginners. If a listing includes tubes, the glass/gas hazards in section 3 also apply. You assume all risk of assembly, testing, and use. Keep unfinished kits, hot irons, and energized circuits away from children.
4. No warranties
THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT LISTINGS ARE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, CURRENT, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY PRODUCT IS SAFE, AUTHENTIC, OR FIT FOR YOUR USE.
5. Limitation of liability and release
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CHRONOLUME, ITS OWNER(S), OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE, AFFILIATE LINKS, OR ANY PRODUCT YOU PURCHASE FROM A THIRD PARTY.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOU RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS CHRONOLUME AND ITS OWNER(S) FROM ANY CLAIMS, DAMAGES, INJURIES (INCLUDING PERSONAL INJURY OR ILLNESS), DEATH, PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR LIABILITY ARISING FROM: (a) products of any type linked from the Site — including watches, Nixie clocks, Nixie kits, and tubes — bought via Buy / Buy from vendor or similar links; (b) broken, leaking, or mishandled tubes, glass, gases, lume, or electronics; (c) acts or omissions of third-party sellers, dealers, marketplaces, or manufacturers (domestic or foreign); (d) pricing, currency conversion, payment, tax, VAT, customs, duties, shipping, delivery, or checkout errors by those third parties or manufacturers; or (e) your failure to follow safety practices or law.
If a jurisdiction does not allow certain limitations, our liability is limited to the fullest extent allowed, and in no event shall our total liability for any claim exceed the greater of (i) the affiliate commission ChronoLume actually received from your purchase that gave rise to the claim, or (ii) ten U.S. dollars (US$10).
6. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ChronoLume and its owner(s) from any claims, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the Site, your purchases from third parties, or your handling of products linked from the Site.
7. Third-party & foreign sites; prices, currency, tax & shipping
Links to Amazon, eBay, Etsy (via Rakuten), specialty shops, overseas manufacturers/dealers, and other sites — domestic or foreign — are provided for convenience, discovery, and shopping options. This applies to every product category on the Site: watches, Nixie clocks, Nixie kits, and tubes.
We do not control those sites or their businesses. ChronoLume may or may not be affiliated with them. We are not responsible for their content, policies, business practices, product quality, stock, authenticity, shipping, returns, customer service, or checkout. Contact the seller for all order issues.
Displayed prices may be in USD or another currency. Currency conversion, payment processing, shipping charges, VAT, sales tax, import duties, EU/customs clearance, and any fees or mistakes by an overseas manufacturer or dealer are between you and that third party — not ChronoLume. ChronoLume is not liable for conversion rates, tax assessments, delayed/seized packages, or seller/manufacturer errors on any linked product type.
7A. Discovery shop — options, not a storefront
ChronoLume wants to provide options and a fun discovery shop across luminous watches and Nixie gear. Listing a product or linking out does not mean we endorse every seller, guarantee a purchase, or stand behind foreign or third-party commerce. You choose where to buy, of your own free will.
7B. Optional on-site AI shopkeeper
ChronoLume may offer an optional on-site assistant or “shopkeeper” through chat and/or voice to help shoppers discover listings across watches, Nixie clocks, Nixie kits, and tubes. The assistant is informational only: it is not a store, not retailer customer service, and not tax or legal advice.
It may translate or explain listings and shops in other languages. Some links are affiliate links, so ChronoLume may earn a commission. Other links are labeled Buy from vendor and do not currently pay ChronoLume; that may change later if an affiliate arrangement is made. The assistant must not claim that ChronoLume sells goods or earns on every link.
The assistant can be wrong or incomplete. Always verify the listing and all purchase details on the seller’s page. ChronoLume is not liable for bot mistakes, bad translations, or your reliance on bot information about prices, taxes, shipping, currency, or any other purchase detail. The third-party and foreign-shop terms and liability limits above apply to bot-assisted exploration and every linked destination.
8. Intellectual property
Site design, text, and branding are owned by ChronoLume or its licensors. Product images are typically hotlinked or referenced from vendor CDNs under each seller’s rules; ChronoLume does not claim ownership of third-party product photos.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms at any time by posting a revised version on this page. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
10. Contact
ChronoLume is not a storefront help desk for retailer orders and is not required to publish a personal or business mailbox for site visitors. For purchases, shipping, returns, taxes, payment, or currency issues, contact the seller on the site the Buy / Buy from vendor link opened.
